Why Choose ILOventures?

We want you to experience the real, authentic, Lapland
ILOventures was founded by Mari Paju - a local guide, travel planner and sheep farmer from Posio, as well as a mother of five princesses. Her everyday life revolves around nature, animals, and the changing seasons of Lapland.
Mari personally guides small groups, families, and couples on hiking, snowshoeing, and a variety of other outdoor adventures.

We are here to make your Lapland dreams come true

Posio is an ideal destination for travelers who want to experience Lapland’s magic without the crowds
Our experiences are based mostly in Posio, home to the unique landscapes of Riisitunturi National Park. Here pristine nature, crystal-clear lakes, and vast forests provide the perfect getaway for nature lovers around the year.
Experience the Midnight Sun in summer, the Northern Lights and Polar Nights in winter, and the breathtaking colors of autumn.
We also offer experiences in nearby areas, for example Kuusamo.
Closest airports:
Kuusamo Airport: 60 km
Rovaniemi Airport: 130 km
Our Core Values

We work with animals – and that is a privilege to us. We want you to enjoy animal encounters with a clear conscience, knowing the animals are well cared for. This means, for example:
- Animals are handled calmly and with respect
- Their species-specific needs are taken into account through proper care, nutrition, healthcare, and sufficient rest
- Visits are unhurried and allow to be present with the animals
- We only work with responsible and ethical farms

There are no "one size fits all" packages here. Every trip and every day is built around your wishes, your travel companions, and your vibe.
You might be travelling:
- With family (even the youngest adventurers can join outdoor experiences in a baby carrier!)
- As a couple
- With a group of friends
- Or with a "from baby to grandparent" crew

Safety is the foundation of everything. Above all, we want to be a reliable local partner for you.
In practice, this means:
- Trips are planned according to weather, season, and the group’s abilities
- Equipment, routes, and conditions are checked in advance
- We’re open and honest about what a trip includes – and what it doesn’t
- Plans are adjusted if conditions aren’t safe
- We reply to messages, talk honestly about options, and always do what we’ve agreed on
